PREVIOUS RELEASE

PixelWall 0.3.2

  • Updates can now download and install inside PixelWall, with progress, cancellation and retry.
  • Choose Restart to update when ready, or Later to keep editing. PixelWall saves your artwork before restarting and postpones installation if saving fails.
  • Downloaded updates are verified against the published release checksums before installation.
  • Check for Updates includes release notes and update controls. Automatic checks can still be disabled, and updates never install on an ordinary app quit.
  • If you use 0.3.1 or earlier, install 0.3.2 once from the Downloads page. Future releases can then be installed inside PixelWall.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

PixelWall 0.3.1

  • Lua palette handles now follow per-frame palette keys and restore correctly when a transaction rolls back.
  • Added scripted palette generation for Octree and RGB5A3, including selected color ranges and nonzero transparent indices.
  • Added scripted conversion between RGBA, indexed and grayscale artwork with color fitting, grayscale and dithering controls.
  • Color conversion preserves linked artwork where appropriate, converts tile artwork and safely retires outdated image handles.
  • Added an AI-agent guide, machine-readable capability statement and llms.txt discovery file with the supported connection paths and limits.
  • Added a reproducible 63-command example that creates a three-frame ninja-panda idle animation, with commands, editable project and rendered PNG.
  • The web Scripts panel and desktop Help menu now link directly to the agent guide.

PREVIOUS RELEASE

PixelWall 0.3.0

  • Closing the desktop app now protects every open project when a save fails, is cancelled or becomes outdated.
  • Native macOS Undo and Redo correctly restore artwork command batches and Lua transactions. Fixed a shutdown error and false file-conflict warnings after metadata-only changes.
  • Improved indexed colors, frame palettes, linked cels and tile rendering. Added palette generation, color matching and dithering options.
  • Added color-profile assignment and conversion, managed previews, and color-aware rendered exports.
  • Added Lua scripting with transactions, dialogs, image and color operations, image specifications, cel ordering and tileset editing.
  • Extension packages can run explicit commands with saved preferences; script edits remain undoable.
  • Improved pixel rotation, fractional export scaling and animation directions and repeat counts.
  • Expanded CLI exports with input-scoped selections, grid extraction, finite tag playback and ordered scale/crop operations.
  • Updated scripting, color and file-compatibility documentation. Existing projects and Pro ownership licenses remain on your device.
